Introduce Achievements alongside your Awards. I.e. an achievement for checking a film from 10 different countries

Interesting idea, but don't think this is particularly applicable considering there is no contained set of films. It works for an Xbox or PS3 game because you know its limits.

I think I'm with dpanter on this one... I can imagine it easily developing into something that would only encourage more cheating and other strange behaviors.

What would be the point? Stephan Muller's suggestions makes my skin crawl to be honest. Get achievements for disliking movies? James Jenner's suggestions were a lot more feasible but really, we don't need the XBOX ADHD generation achievement hunters to start swarming icheckMovies.com...

Thanks, Stephen. You pipped me to it!

Geez, do I have to do everything around here : )
As well as the one suggested in the title, an achievement based on X amount of different language films you have seen
An achievement for X amount of films over 3hours you have seen
An achievement for X amount of Black & Whites you have seen
X amount of Silents...
X amount of Thrillers (and every other genre)...Achievements can then be titled, for example ‘Thrill Seeker’ or ‘Comedy Nut’ or ‘Drama Queen’ etc.
These are just a few ideas that are springing to mind. -

Watch x movies below a certain rating.
Be the first to check a movie.
Dislike a movie that has a very high favorite rate (and vice versa).
Watch x movies from a certain (director/country/list/whatever) in a row.
Add at least x movies to your (favorites/dislikes/owned).
Create a list.
Add x friends.
Import a movie from IMDb.I can go on?

Allright, try selling it a bit more. What other achievements did you have in mind?
